ST. CLOUD, MN – The Rox Community Foundation in partnership with Wells, Miller Buick GMC, CLA, and NAPA Central donated twenty (20) scholarships valued at $1,000 a piece to high school seniors in Central Minnesota who graduated and attending college this fall.
Scholarships were chosen by the board of directors of the Rox Community Foundation and were broken up into six different categories. Arts, athletics, automotive, disabilities, education, and volunteerism. When students applied, they chose one category that they felt best represented their college path.
Arts: The award is based strictly on the student’s involvement or work in either Digital, Dramatic, or Performing Arts.
Athletics: This is for individuals playing in competitive or intramural sports.
Automotive: This is for students who plan to take an automotive-related course at an area technical/vocational college following graduation.
Disabilities: This is for students with a diagnosed disability – as defined by the ADA – with plans to attend a 4-year accredited college/university or 2-year technical/community college or vocational training program.
Education: This is a general category for any senior class student graduating with an unweighted cumulative 2.5 GPA or greater that will advance their studies at a 4-year accredited college/university or 2-year technical/community college.
Volunteerism: This is a scholarship opportunity based strictly on a student’s community and or school service activity record.
