Student Scholarships
The Rox Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization administered by the St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club with corporate support from Wells, Miller Buick GMC, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), and NAPA Central.
During the current school year, the Rox Community Foundation will award “20” individual college scholarships for senior high school students, EACH valued at $1,000. They will be awarded in the following categories: Arts, Athletics, Automotive, Disabilities, Education, and Volunteerism.
Students: Please select one of those categories that best represents your candidacy. See the category descriptions below. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 12th 2024
Arts
Award is based strictly on student’s involvement or work in either Digital, Dramatic, or Performing Arts.
Samples of the students work is welcomed.
Athletics
This is for individuals playing in competitive or intramural sports.
Automotive
This is for students that plan to take an automotive-related course at an area technical/vocational college following graduation.
Disabilities
This is for students with a diagnosed disability – as defined by the ADA – with plans to attend a 4-year accredited college/university or 2-year technical/community college or vocational training program.
Education
This is a general category for any senior class student graduating with an unweighted cumulative 2.5 GPA or greater that will advance their studies at a 4-year accredited college/university or 2-year technical/community college.
Volunteerism
This is a scholarship opportunity based strictly on a student’s community and or school service activity record,
New For the 2023/2024 Year
The Rox Community Foundation has partnered with the Central MN Auto Care Association to provide “5” additional $1,000 scholarships just for this specific award!
Scholarship Criteria
- The applicant must attend a high school in Central Minnesota and meet all academic requirements to graduate by June, 2024.
- Student must have applied to either a four-year accredited college/university OR two-year technical/vocational college when applying for the scholarship.
- Please choose “1” of the “6” listed scholarship categories on the application form that best suits your candidacy before submitting your entry.
- Please type or print very clearly. An incomplete or hard-to-read application will not be considered.
- Photos and other material relevant to the student’s application as well as a typed essay are encouraged to tell our panel of judges more about your candidacy.
Judging
Several Central Minnesota business executives will be brought in to serve as a panel of judges to review all applications and vote on the Scholarship recipients.
Presentation of Scholarship Awards
The “20” Rox Community Foundation Scholarship recipients will receive their awards during an on-field ceremony at a St. Cloud Rox Baseball Game that will be held at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, MN. (Game Date: TBD). Each recipient will be given “5” Complimentary Tickets to use for family distribution.
The Five (5) Students chosen to a receive a Scholarship through the Central MN Auto Care Association program, will also receive their awards during a separate on-field ceremony at a Rox Baseball Game (Game Date: TBD).
