Launch-A-Ball Contest

The Rox Community Foundation has had the “Launch-A-Ball” contest that serves as a fundraising opportunity for an area Youth Baseball Association.

The contest takes place just before the post-game fireworks shows on select dates that features two individual target signs placed out on the field. Scheels awarded a $100 Store Gift Card to each of the two prize winners that had their contest ball land closest to one of the targets (closest to right foot of sign holder).

During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the Rox Community Foundation donated 100% of all proceeds raised from this contest at the ballpark as a benefit for the Sauk Rapids-Rice Youth Baseball Association in support of their mission to build new baseball/softball fields for boys & girls between the ages of 5-16.

Several parents and players from the youth baseball association attended each of the Friday night home games to sell the contest balls for the promotion. They were priced at 1 ball for $5; 3 balls for $10; or 10 balls for $20.

The 2024 season featured several volunteers that sold Launch-A-Balls at seven select home games. 100% of the proceeds went towards the Rox Community Foundation. As a result, over $3,400 were raised during the 2025 season.

During the 2025 season, Sauk Rapids-Rice Youth Baseball Association was back on board for Launch-A-Ball sales. Half of proceeds sold went to the Rox Community Foundation and half to their baseball association. Over the seven select home games, over $4,500 was raised between the two organizations.

Overall, the Rox Community Foundation donated over $15,000 to the Youth Baseball Association as a result of this special fundraiser.
